Palmer’s Pregnancy Care Stretch Marks Range

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Range

What they are:

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks (RRP$17.50)
  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks (RRP$17.50)
  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Tummy Butter for Stretch Marks (RRP$18.50)

Use them:

To help prevent the appearance of stretch marks. The Massage Lotion smoothes easily over your body and is lightly scented to suit women with a heightened sense of smell which is common during pregnancy. Use in place of regular body moisturiser twice daily, from early pregnancy until after your baby is born. The Massage Cream is a concentrated cream, again lightly scented, which you massage into problem zones such as your stomach, thighs, and breasts at least twice daily, from mid to late pregnancy. The Tummy Butter is a rich, dense butter that melts on contact with the skin, and includes lavender oil to promote relaxation and sleep. Use at night as an intensive treatment.

What we love:

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter products are known for their amazing, good-enough-to-eat cocoa butter scent, and these three products are among the most delicious we’ve ever smelled. We love that each product has a targeted use, so you can choose what will suit you best depending on your body’s needs and what stage of pregnancy you’re in. Containing beautiful ingredients like vitamin E, shea butter, argan oil, almond oil, and lavender, plus collagen and elastin to support your skin’s health and suppleness, they’re wonderful for using during pregnancy and post-birth.

Our editor says:

When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I got a tiny wee sample of a Palmer’s Cocoa Butter product — I can’t remember which one, but it doesn’t matter, because as soon as I smelled it I knew I needed the full-size one ASAP. When I discovered there is a whole range of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter products specifically for pregnant women, I was hooked. The scent is just divine, but even better than that, the products are incredibly nourishing for your skin, making it feel smooth and supple. Each of these products has a slightly different use — the Massage Lotion is great as a full-body moisturiser, while the Massage Cream is more targeted for your tummy, hips, thighs, and breasts. And the Tummy Butter is just lovely to rub into a sore, stretched-out, late-pregnancy bump. According to Palmer’s, with regular use, skin elasticity improved in 97% of the test subjects — and we reckon the soothing act of massaging your pregnant body with each of the products will also help you feel relaxed and comfortable. They’re definitely an affordable luxury that’ll help you feel pampered during pregnancy.

Things to remember:

Skin sensitivity heightens during pregnancy, so Palmer’s advises testing the products on a small area, such as your forearm, 48 hours before the first use. Do not use if signs of irritation or rash appear. After using the products, if irritation or rash appears, discontinue use, and if it persists, see your doctor.
